The windscreen wiper blade for a motor vehicle has a blade formed of rubber. On one side the blade (15) has an edge strip (14) with couplings (17,21) for the ends of articulation (16,19) arms on the blade support. The shape of the wiper blade varies from one end to the other, inverse to the surface to be cleaned. The couplings between the blade and articulation arms can have a variable spacing which decreases with increasing curvature of the windscreen surface.
