Rapidly-responsive model car steerage - has left and right electromagnetic braking for turning wheel carriage

A carriage (5) contg. electromagnetic spools (2) with soft iron armature pieces (1) moves left and right about an axis shaft (6) to control the wheels (10). The wheel axle carries a magnetic collar (4) which is attracted into the soft iron (1) armature to give a braking action. If current is applied to either left or right-hand spools (3,2), the axle collar is contracted into that brake armature (1) to slow a wheel and cause the carriage (5) to turn on its axis (6), so turning the vehicle. The mechanism is light and sensitive, requires minimal current and fewer mating parts.
