The process consists in that the stones coming out of moulding or shaping are, after the cement has set, scraped at the surface by means of metal scrapers such as railways. The surfaces of artificial stones which have been scraped and then dried are impregnated with a mixture of black oxide for cement and of iron oxide and then, after a certain time, are washed, scrubbed with metal brushes and rinsed, before the final drying.
