Process for the preparation of products of transposition of the acyl group of an ester, characterised in that a compound such as II' is reacted with chromous ions in aprotic medium, in order to form a transposed organochromic derivative, such as III', which, if desired, is hydrolysed to a ketone, such as IV', or which is cyclised to a furan compound, such as V', and new organochromic compounds obtained.
