The invention relates to a compact folding chair comprising a seat part for sitting and a seat part for the knees or the shins. It consists of two elements, one 1 carrying the sitting seat part 3 and the other 2 carrying the two knee seat parts 4. These two elements are connected together, on the one hand via a horizontal shaft 5 and, on the other hand, via a strut 6 located beneath this shaft. The height of the sitting seat part is adjustable in terms of height in order to enable the chair to be adapted to the size of the user.
