The present invention relates to surgical implants characterised in that they are machined from a block of carbon/carbon composite obtained by compacting carbon fibres by chemical deposition of a pyrocarbon material in the fluid phase. The implants according to the invention furthermore have the feature of being locatable by a radiological examination.
