The method consists in machining, on the edge, the borders of the two panels 1-2 to be assembled in order to make, between the faces of each of them and along the border to be joined, a recess 9-10 intended to receive one half of a false tongue 11 whose total thickness is equal to that of the panels to be joined reduced by the thicknesses of their two faces so that after pasting the false tongue with glue and after inserting it in the recesses, the faces 13-14 of this false tongue will be applied internally by clamping the assembly against the faces of the two butt-joined panels.
