Process for the accelerated ageing of wood

The invention relates to a process allowing wood to be rapidly and economically aged, and by analogy, to treat any macromolecular organic matter. The process consists in subjecting the matter to be treated, in any of its possible forms, to a gaseous oxidising atmosphere. The atmosphere for treating is preferably loaded with NH3 ions. This process allows wood to be aged not only on the surface but also in depth. Application: especially to the furniture, floor tile, door frame industry. IMAGE
