PURPOSE:To prevent the location slippage of a belt, by a method wherein the detection mark which passes following the traveling of a plate belt is ordinarily read and the advance feed or delay feed of belt is carried out. CONSTITUTION:A mark sensor A ordinarily reads the detection mark 16 which passes following the traveling of a plate belt 11 and generates one signal everytime one piece of mark 16 is read. When the belt generates slippage, the generation of pulse is slipped. Thereby, the location slippage in the delay or advance direction of belt 11 is detected. The rotation of impression cylinder 13 is detected by a reference sensor 0B synchronously driving the impression cylinder 13 and a plate belt hanging roll 14, and one signal of the same width such as A1', A2' is generated everytime one rotation of the cylinder 13 is detected by the sensor B. The impression cylinder rotation detection signal B' is utilized as reference and the slippage of belt is detected by comparing it with the signal A1' or A2' due to the mark 16. Thereby, the detection and correction of the slippage of plate belt can be exactly carried out.
