PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of various troubles owing to the formation of semi- solidified matter at the ends in the transverse direction in the stage of casting continuously a thin sheet with a twin roll type continuous casting device by making the pouring rate of the molten steel at the ends in the transverse direction of a casting mood larger than the pouring rate in the central part in accordance with the temp. distribution in the transverse direction of the continuously cast slab. CONSTITUTION:A gate frame 4 is formed of two cooling rolls 1, side sealing plates 3 and barrel sealing plates 2 and the molten steel 5 in a tundish 9 is poured by three pouring nozzles 8 therein. The molten steel is taken out as the thin sheet of continuously cast slab 7 from a gap 6 while the molten steel is cooled by the rolls 1, 1. The molten steel 5 in the frame 4 is cooled earlier on the plate 3 side than in the central part and the semi-solidified matter grows abnormally in the roll gap 6 on the inside surface side of the plates 3. The breakage and cracking of the slab 7 are resulted therefrom. The temp. distribution in the transverse direction of the pouring nozzles 7 is measured by a temp. detector 14 in such a case and the value thereof is fed back to pour the molten metal more from the nozzles on the end sides in the transverse direction among the nozzles 8 by which the formation of the semi- solidified matter is prevented and the thin slab is stably produced.
