Novel 1-aryl-2,2-dialkyl-2-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)ethanols, a process for their preparation, and their use as fungicides. The compounds of the formula (I) IMAGE in which X1, X2, X3, R1 and R2 are as defined in the description, are obtained when the corresponding ethanone derivatives are reduced in a known fashion. The compounds according to the invention are interesting as crop protection agents, in particular for controlling diseases in cereal, fruit and vegetable crops.
