ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREThe present invention is a radiation sensitizer orcrosslinking agent having the formulawherein n is from 2 to 6; R1 is selected from H andmethyl radicals; R2 is a diradical selected from thegroup consisting of alkylene, cycloalkylene, aralkylene,and arylene diradicals having from 1 to 16 carbon atoms;and X is a polyfunctional radical wherein the functionalgroups are selected from -O-, , (where R is H or a(C1-C4) alkyl radical) and mixtures thereof, the radicalhaving from 2 to 6 functional groups. The radiationsensitizer is useful in fluoropolymer compositions.The present invention also includes a methodcomprising the step of irradiating a fluoropolymer com-position. The composition can be melt processedfollowed by irradiation. The radiation sensitizer ofthe above composition is particularly stable during meltprocessing. Melt processing can include melt blending,such as extruder blending, and melt forming, such aswire coating.
