METHOD OF PRESS FITTING AND PRESS DETACHING WHEEL TO AND FROM WHEEL SET

PURPOSE:To provide a method of press fitting and press detaching wheel to and from the wheel set while rotating the wheel, which is capable of preventing frictional flaws from being caused at the seat portions of axle. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with this method, wheel is press fitted and press detached to and from the wheel set while wheel 3 is rotated slowly, that is, while the wheel 3 is rotated slowly by rotating means 12 including a roller 11 a portion of which is held in contact with the outer circumferential surface of wheel 3. In press fitting the wheel 3 to the wheel set, said rotating means 12 is rotated together with wheel 3. In press detaching the same from the wheel set, on the other hand, rotating means 12 is fixed together with wheel 3. By the rotatonal motion of the wheel 3, it is enabled to press fit or press detach wheel 3 to and from the wheel set smoothly with application of a constant force.
