PURPOSE:To obtain the shape parameter of a Weibull distribution accurately through simple operation by drawing the lateral axis and longitudinal axis of the Weibull chart on a transparent from and obtaining the (m) ruler for the Weibull chart. CONSTITUTION:The (m) ruler for the Weibull chart is formed by drawing the lateral axis 8, longitudinal axis 9, etc., on the transparent or translucent form 11. The length of this lateral axis 8 corresponds to one division of the lateral axis of the Weibull chart or is (n) times as long as it. Further, (m) divisions 6 on the longitudinal axis 9 correspond to longitudinal axis divisions on the Weibull chart as they are or (n) times. Consequently, the (m) ruler 10 is superposed on the Weibull chart, a point 7 is positioned on a straight line, and the longitudinal and lateral axes of the chart are made parallel to the lateral and longitudinal axes 8 and 9 of the (m) ruler 10. The value of the intersection of the straight line and the longitudinal axis 9 of the (m) ruler 10 is read on (m) divisions 6 as the shape parameter (m) of the Weibull chart.
