PURPOSE:To have proper control of contact pressure at all times by installing a load sensor in that part of a fluid pressurization mechanism, for driving a touch roller supporting mechanism of a take up device concerned, where a force in response to the contact pressure is applied, and by feeding back the produced signal to a contact pressure control part. CONSTITUTION:With a cylindrical core interposed, a sheet roll R is formed on a winding shaft 3 supported on a supporting mechanism 4, which can swing oscillatively. Sheet roll R is formed by winding the fed sheet S through a touch roller 1, which is supported by a supporting mechanism 8 swinging oscillatively. A fluid pressurization mechanism 2 to press the touch roller 1 to the sheet roll R is installed at the free end of this supporting mechanism 8, and a load sensor 6 is interposed between this mechanism 2 and machine frame M. A converting calculator 11 calculates the current contact pressure P from the value P given by this load sensor 6, and this value P is used for feedback control of a contact pressure control part 7. Thus the fluid pressurization mechanism 2 is controlled.
