PURPOSE:To avoid change of compsn. of a material sealed in an ampule even if a large amt. of material having high vapor pressure is sealed by evacuating a main body of an ampule having a long sealing tube, cutting after sealing an uppermost end of the sealing tube, and collapsing a space for seal-cutting. CONSTITUTION:In an ampule main body for sealing a material in vacuum constituted of an ampule main body 1 for contg. a sample, a seal-cutting part 2, and a connecting part 3 to an evacuating device seriately, the length M of the seal- cutting part 2 is to be as long as possible. A sample 4 is filled fully in the main body 1, and an uppermost end 5 of the seal-cutting part 2 farthest from the surface of the sample 4 is sealed by heating and cut. By this method, no influence of heat is affected to the sample 4 even if the distance L between the surface of the sample 4 and the seal-cutting part 2 is small. The space part 6 of the connected tube is collapsed by heating the part along the longitudinal direction of the seal-cutting part 2 successively. Thus, an upper end of the main body 1 is sealed, and the space part 6 is eliminated completely.
