摘要

PURPOSE:To analyze the two test items of bilirubin and creatinine from a blood sample in one container by using a special oxidizing agent for bilirubin so that the reaction rate may be optically determined. CONSTITUTION:A serum is sampled in a reaction container, and a solution of an oxidizing agent for bilirubin such as chloramine T, which promotes the oxidation of bilirubin but not the formation of creatinine picrate, is added thereto. By this addition, the oxidizing reaction of bilirubin is started so that the reaction process is optically observed. The bilirubin is so oxidized substantially completely, and a solution of picric acid is added so that the generating reaction of creatinine picrate is started. From the change in the absorptivity for a preset time period for a wavelength of 500nm, the reaction rate of creatinine is determined so that the quantity of bilirubin is measured.
