ICE RESISTANT WALL OF MAN-MADE ISLAND ON FROZEN SEA

PURPOSE:To build an ice resistant wall which is durable to an ice pressure and has watertightness, by a method wherein a concrete panel, having a side inclined inwardly, is supported by a skelton, a stopper is secured to the skelton, and a wedge member is inserted into a gap between the concrete panels. CONSTITUTION:A concrete panel 1 is supported by a skelton 4 and a stopper 3, and the concrete panel 1 is held obliquely. A wedge member 2 is inserted into a gap between the concrete panel 1 and the stopper 3 to secure the wedge member by means of a nut. In order to prevent corrosion of a bolt 6 and a steel plate, a space in the wedge member 2 is filled with concrete to provide enough strength. This causes support of the skelton and serves to prevent dislocation of the stopper, resulting in an increase in strength and in the possibility to relieve a tensile force even if the concrete panel is bent.
