SLOPE PROTECTING DEVICE FOR MAN-MADE ISLAND FOR FROZEN SEA

PURPOSE:To prevent the slope of a man-made island from being corroded by waves and drift ice, by a method wherein a slope protecting device, formed with a floating body with which a portion between the top part of the man-made island and a slope formed into contact with drift ice is covered, is disposed around the island for securing. CONSTITUTION:A slope protecting device 4 includes a top protection part 4A, protecting a top part 2A of a man-made island 2, a slope protection part 4B, protecting a slope surface 2B, and an extension part 4C. The whole of the device 4 forms a boxform floating body by welding metallic plates, such as iron plates. The device is floated on a sea surface 3 for transportation, water or concrete is poured to the interior thereof for settling, and a pin 5 is inserted into the bracket of the end of the device 4 for securing. This enables extremely efficient installation of the slope protecting device, and once the device is installed, the device can be used for a long time.
