MOTHPROOFING AGENT AGAINST VERMIN OF ORDER ISOPTERA AND HYMENOPTERA

PURPOSE:A mothproofing agent effective against vermin of the orders Isoptera and Hymenoptera having improved durability, great safety, and practicability, comprising 2- or/and 3-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyanisole(s). CONSTITUTION:A mothproofing agent comprising one or two types of 2- and 3-tert- butyl-4-hydrlxyanisoles as an active constituent, effective against vermin of the orders Isoptera, e.g. formosan white-ant (Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki), and Hymenoptera, e.g. Dryocosmus kuriphilus Yasumatsu, or black carpenter ant (Camponotus herculeanus pennsylvanicus DeGeer). The agent is sprayed on or applied to, or fumigated in a place, where the vermin (V) live or are to be expelled, to make V escape outside a certain area, or to inhibit the laying eggs of imagoes. The amount of the agent is 0.01mg/cm3 or more on the surface as the active constituent or 0.01ppm or more in air for applying and spraying.
