The stop is intended for immobilising the key in a mortice lock as a precaution against burglary. It comprises a metal strip which is inserted into the upright portion of the keyhole below the key shank. It has a wider portion at its projecting end with a screw bore below the eye at the end of the key. - A headed screw passed through the eye is screwed into the bore so that the key is prevented from being turned from the other side.
