The energy generation and storage complex utilises a number of mostly natural sources to make e.g. electric power constantly available without environmental pollution, the choice of sources being dependent on the siting of the complex. A shore-based complex can have large high level (2) and low-level (3) sea water (1) basins, connected via a reservoir (4) with inlet (9) and outlet (10) turbine generator units and contg. a buoyancy member (5) to drive a pump (6) capable of pumping water to a water tower (7). A connection from the tower to the basin (2) contains a further turbine generator (8). - A helical wind-rotor (14) around the tower also generates power aided by a rising air flow produced by solar radiation on an enclosure (11) at the base of the tower. A normal wind rotor is palced on top of the tower and further rotors (13,14) are arranged at the shore line. In a mountainous region, some of these features may be combined with hydro-electric power generation and hydroponics, water purification, fish breeding and other installations may be incorporated. A complex may be the base of a self-sufficient community or an amusement park.
