The invention relates to a keycap for a control unit of a telephone device, in which the keyboard is arranged inside the housing and can be pressed by means of a peg connected to the key cap for operation. The keycap, inserted in a housing opening, is provided with one or more pointed spring elements (2) on the side, which run downwards at an acute angle and are supported on a light conductor (7) in whose hole the peg (5) is inserted. Light is directed via the light conductor and peg to the characters and symbols which consist of a light-collecting plastic. Such a keycap is described in more detail in the main patent. The invention proposes a three layer construction of the keycap, the base body (4, 5) provided with the peg consisting of a clear-glass material, onto which a relatively thin layer (11) is applied with elevated symbols and around which, once again, there is fixedly arranged an opaque layer (12) with spring elements (2).
