This laminar beam headlight for motor vehicles comprises a reflector which has a cylindrical reflecting surface 4 with a parabolic vertical section and with a horizontal focal axis and a transparent screen 7 stripped of refracting elements, so as to impart to the light beam produced by the bulb 5 a distribution which is flattened and widened in the horizontal plane.
