The adhesive press for sticking soles onto lasted footwear comprises a table construction with interchangeable plate holder for the shoe upper and a pressing cushion with rigid hood which can be swivelled by a drive to close the mould and produce the pressing action. The drive engages on the hood (10) by an elbow lever system (17,21) whose first lever is attached to the hood and whose second lever engages on the table structure. When the pressing cushion (2) is closed both levers are aligned in one axis.
