LIFT MECHANISM FOR A DUMP TRUCKAbstractA lift mechanism for a dump truckoperative to pivot the dump body rearwardly abouta pivot axis at the rear of the hoist frame andoperative to pivot the dump body about a pivotaxis at the front of the hoist frame. Themechanism includes a lift arm assembly pivotallymounted in the hoist frame and operativelyconnected to the body. A power cylinder ispivotally connected at one end to the hoist frameand at the other end to the lift arm assembly.First and second pivot supports are located atthe rear and front of the hoist frame respectively.A latch means is operative to selectively latchthe body to the first and second pivot supports.The second pivot support at the front of thehoist frame includes a support shaft which isadapted for horizontal sliding movement on thehoist frame by means of a pair of horizontalguide rods to which the opposite ends of the supportshaft are slidably attached. Thus, when the bodyis tilted forwardly, the support shaft upon whichit is pivoted will slide rearwardly to therebyprevent intereference between the dump body andthe truck cab.
