System for converting heat energy from a source of essentially unlimited capacity, in particular to utilize heat energy from the environment, comprising a heat pump connected to a closed circuit actuating mechanism (3) for initiate the heat pump circuit having an evaporation mechanism (1) receiving thermal energy from an external environment to convert a liquid into vapor, a compression mechanism (2) to increase steam pressure and condensation mechanism (4) for returning the liquid from the compressed vapor, the system being provided with an energy output terminal. The characteristic of this system is to have a closed driving circuit in thermal contact with the condensation mechanism (4), which produces superheated steam to initiate the actuating mechanism (3), the drive circuit comprising a mechanism for condensing the superheated vapor leaving the outlet of the actuating mechanism (3) and a transport mechanism (6) for supplying the liquid to the condensation mechanism (4). The present system is capable of using the thermal energy from the environment without further input from an external source of power based on an electrical network or a fossil fuel.
