Disclosed is a sodium tripolyphosphate hexahydrate high absorbency and a preparation method thereof. This tripolyphosphate is prepared by a process which comprises the following steps: - we take a first anhydrous sodium tripolyphosphate predominantly in the phase form 1 and above are sprayed with water or an aqueous medium; - we take a second essentially anhydrous sodium tripolyphosphate in the form of stage 2 and is sprayed over the water or an aqueous medium; - mixing the two tripolyphosphates thus treated; - introducing the mixture obtained in water or an aqueous medium to form a slurry; - drying said suspension is obtained whereby the hexahydrate sodium tripolyphosphate.; The product obtained can be used for detergent compositions.
