The invention relates to a method for producing a hybrid DNA which contains the complementary genome which is characteristic of the heptatitis A virus (HAV), the hybrid DNA thus produced, the plasmid vector containing it, the proteins or hybrid proteins expressed in bacterial clones, and the use of this Habrid DNA for the detection of hepatitis A virus in a biological sample, and vaccines containing these proteins or hybrid proteins.
