Phage resistant E. Coli bacterium and method for making the same

Bacteriophage resistant E. coli and methods for making the same where such bacteria have an essentially irreversible resistance to infection by certain phage due to the transposon induced deletion or inversion of a DNA sequence associated with a bacterial gene required for certain phage infection.
