Plate press for the pressing of pressed-material mats in the course of manufacturing chipboards, fibreboards and similar pressed material - with a multiplicity of press frames arranged in series in the longitudinal direction of the press, working cylinder/piston arrangement with pressure-medium supply, press beam and at least one top and one bottom press plate, the working cylinder/piston arrangement working on the press table, which carries one of the press plates, the other press plate being attached to the frames via a connection device which has heat-insulating intermediate layers. The connection devices have a deflection-compensation chamber which extends over the width of the respectively allocated frame.
