The substance to be examined is introduced into the plasma (3) as a homogeneous, finely granular suspension (10). To this end, a plasma burner is used which, via a metal capillary (6) disposed in an inner cylinder (5), feeds the substance to be examined (10) from a reservoir (11) via an intake pipe (9) and an atomiser (7) to the plasma chamber (3). A magnetic stirrer (12) is preferably used to homogenise the suspension (10). By means of the method and the apparatus, the analysis of solids in the plasma can be carried out in a simple manner and with optimal detection and determination limits. IMAGE
