Apparatus for positively guiding manual piercing saws and manual circular saws

The present invention is a simple and practical apparatus for the precise cutting to length of planks or the like using manual piercing saws and manual circular saws. It is characterised by a guide rail (1) with a guide groove (2) which is rigidly or rotatably connected to a stop rail (3), which is manually fixed to the longitudinal edge of the workpiece (4) to be cut. The saw is positively guided across the workpiece in a precise fashion in the guide groove (2) by means of the moulded-on profile (6) on the saw baseplate. Positive guidance (1a) is provided as soon as the saw is started. Angular cutting is made possible by the rotatable connection (8) of the stop rail, the guide rail and a slotted quadrantal connection (9) with locking screw (10).
