Aqueous sol compositions, which can be used to restore the activity of metal-contaminated molecular-sieve cracking catalysts, having a main proportion of an aqueous antimony sol and/or tin sol which comprises from 1 to 50 % by weight of antimony oxide, calculated as Sb2O5, or tin oxide, calculated as SnO2, and from 0.1 to 20 % by weight of a compatible water-soluble surface-active water-in-oil emulsifier having an HLB value of at least 6.0, and processes for reactivating metal-contaminated molecular-sieve cracking catalysts using sols of this type.
