A method for producing a heat-insulated composite profiled track. The method is for two metal profiles to be connected to at least one insulating rod, the insulating rod being fixed in grooves (which are bounded by webs) in the profiled rods, the insulating rod being fixed against relative movement with respect to the metal profiles in the longitudinal direction of the composite profiled track, by means of additional attachment means, after the groove web or webs has or have been integrally formed on the associated edge strip of the insulating rod in the region of the ends of the composite profiled track, and the surface treatment of the composite profiled track being carried out subsequently.
