A pressure-maintaining system, which is itself independent of the position of the safety valve of the press together with a storage unit (19) and topping-up system permits not only the pressure relief to the tank (1), but also the additional pressure or a removal from the supply line (3) directly after the switching over of the magnetic setting elements (31, 33, 35) controlling the valves (4, 23), which are triggered by signal emitters (39), which mark the various partial strokes of the press.
