An electronic controller is proposed which is used in motor vehicles, for example in the case of electronic ignition and fuel-injection systems, complete-coil ignition systems and digital engine electronics. The controller has a housing (1) which consists of insulating plastic and is closed by a sheet-metal cover (5). The sheet-metal cover (5) has attachment flaps (7) which are bent around the housing edge (3) and are flanged in recesses (11) of the housing (1) in which the free ends (16) of the attachment flap (7) are pressed against an opposing wall (13), which runs parallel to the housing edge (3), of the recess (11). The cover (5) which is attached in this manner is seated in a positively-locking and vibration-resistant manner on the housing (1), without any additional attachment parts being required. IMAGE
