Process for recovering molybdenum on active charcoal, from an acidic uranium-bearing solution containing more molybdenum than uranium. The process according to the invention is characterised by the treatment on active charcoal of the said solution at a pH of approximately 2, resulting in the adsorption of the molybdenum on the active charcoal, whereas the uranium stays in solution and by the recovery of the molybdenum from the active charcoal by bringing the latter into contact with an alkaline solution in order to adjust the pH to approximately 9 and to convert the compounds of the molybdic acid type into soluble dimolybdates. Use in obtaining molybdenum of sufficient purity for uses in metallurgy.
