Fertile assembly for a liquid sodium-cooled fast-neutron nuclear reactor. This assembly comprises a casing 1 in which are arranged fertile elements 4 along which travels the liquid sodium coolant passing through the casing 1. It also comprises a plurality of diaphragms 10 placed in the casing 1 transversely in relation to the direction of travel of the liquid sodium. At least one of the diaphragms 12 consists, at least in its central part around its opening 13, of a material which is soluble in liquid sodium, such as copper.
