PURPOSE:To obviate the neglect of throwing a power source to a carbon monoxide concn. detector or the waste of the electric power consumption by the carbon monoxide concn. detector by automatically controlling the operation of the carbon monoxide concn. detector according to the state of a combustion device. CONSTITUTION:The carbon monoxide concn. detector 4 has a carbon monoxide sensor 1, an arithmetic processor 2, an alarm device 3, and a current measuring instrument 5 which is provided to an electric power supply line 7 for the electrically controlled combustion device 6 and turns on and off the arithmetic processor 2 by measuring the supply current and detecting the combustion state. The current measuring instrument 5 detects the rated current and outputs the detection start signal of the carbon monoxide concn. to the arithmetic processor 2 when the rated current flows in the combustion state of the combustion device 6. The current measuring instrument 5 detects the stop of the combustion 6 from the absence of the current in the current supply line 7 and stops the operation of the carbon monoxide concn. measuring instrument 4 when the combustion of the combustion device 6 stops.
