POLISHING METHOD FOR FERRULE HAVING CONVEX TIP

PURPOSE:To machine highly accurately while utilizing the entire face of grinding wheel uniformly by rolling a recessed grinding wheel disc corresponding with the spherical face of ferrule around the center of curvature of the spherical face at the tip of ferrule while rotating. CONSTITUTION:A concave polishing grinding wheel disc 3 has the concave upper face 3a corresponding with the curvature (r) at the tip of ferrule and rotated by a motor M at the lower end through a rotary shaft 4. The rotary shaft 4 is supported through bearings 6, 7 on the housing 5 slidable on a base 8 having a recessed face groove 8a in the upper face. The center of curvature of said groove 8a will match with that of the convex face at the tip of ferrule.
