PURPOSE:To efficiently execute vacuum sintering and quick cooling treatments with an integrated stage by housing a treating material into a tight box in a furnace and subjecting the material to vacuum sintering then injecting a cooling gas to the treating material in the tight box in succession therewith. CONSTITUTION:The treating material A of a powder molding is housed into the tight box 2 in a chamber 1 and a door 5 is closed by a door open/shut device 6. The inside of the chamber is evacuated to a vacuum from a discharge pipe 7 and at the same time the inside of the furnace is heated by a heater 8 to execute a dewaxing treatment. The door 5 is then opened and the inside of the chamber 1 is evacuated to a vacuum from a discharge pipe 22. The inside of the furnace is further heated to the higher temp. by the heater 8 so that the treating material A is subjected to the high vacuum sintering. The heating is thereafter stopped and a cooling fan 10 is started. The cooling gas which is sucked from a guide passage 18 and is cooled by a cooler 19 is thereby injected from a nozzle 17 provided to partition plate 16 via an air conduit passage 13 into the tight box 2. The treating material A after the above- mentioned sintering is thus quickly cooled.
