NEW MATERIAL:A compound of the formula. USE:Antiulcerative. PREPARATION:A herb, zedoary, is decocted with an organic solvent such as hexane and the decoction is concentrated and the resulting essence is fractionated by means of column chromatography, preferably silica-gel chromatography. Then, the fraction corresponding to the compound is chromatographed again and recrystallized from an organic solvent to give the compound of the formula.
