VERTICAL TYPE NUMERICALLY CONTROLLED LATHE WITH WORK INDEX TABLE

PURPOSE:To efficiently mass-produce an accurate product, by operating three mechanisms of a headstock mechanism, work index mechanism and a tool rest mechanism through a numerical control mechanism. CONSTITUTION:This lathe is automatically operated by a program built in a numerical control panel 45. A work 9 on a table is positioned just below a main spindle 1 by moving a work index table 17. Next the work 9 is chucked by a power chuck 8. And then the lathe, moving a tool rest 33 toward the center line to be indexed by an indexing motor 35 and successively replacing a tool (not shown in the drawing) mounted to the tool rest, cuts the work 9 to be detached after it finishes cutting. This process is automatically repeated.
