PURPOSE:To efficiently control permeation capacity when the titled membrane is used for permeation by bringing the soln. of a lipidic bimolecular membrane- forming substance in an org. solvent and water into contact with both surfaces of a hydrophilic polymer porous membrane, and forming a lipidic bimolecular membrane in the fine pore of the porous membrane. CONSTITUTION:A U-shaped glass vessel is bisected at the central part of the bottom part, a hydrophilic polymer porous membrane is put between the O rings provided on both end faces, an org. solvent soln. and water are respectively charged in the glass vessels on both sides, and the soln. and the water are brought into contact with each other from both sides of the membrane. When the soln. of a lipidic bimolecular membrane-forming substance in an org. solvent and the water are permeated through the membrane from both sides, an interface between the org. solvent and the water is formed in the fine pore of the porous membrane, and the lipidic bimolecular membrane is oriented at the interface. The treatment is generally carried out at about 60-80 deg.C.
