COATING COMPOUND COMPOSITION OF AQUEOUS AEROSAL TYPE

PURPOSE:The titled composition having improved corrosion resistance, water resistance, and good workability, obtained by blending a long-chain alkyl group- containing methacrylic acid monomer with an alpha,beta-monoethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:For example, (A) 5-60wt% one or more of 8-18C long-chain alkyl group-containing methacrylic acid ester monomers (e.g., methacrylic acid octyl ester, etc.) are polymerized with (B) 5-20wt% one or more of alpha,beta-monoethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid monomers[e.g., (meth)acrylic acid monomer, etc.], and (C) 20-90wt% one or more other copolymerizable monomers (e.g., alkenyl aromatic monomer such as styrene, vinyltoluene, etc.). The polymer is neutralized with (D) a volatile basic substance, and blended with (E) a propellant (dimethyl ether), to give the desired composition.
