PURPOSE:To improve the resistance to E.C (erosion corrosion) by wet vapor and the weldability by restricting the amounts of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Mo, Cu, Ni, etc. CONSTITUTION:This low C-low Si-Cr-Mo steel consists of, by weight, 0.02-0.14% C, 0.45% Si, 0.3-0.8% Mn, 0.7-1.6% Cr, 0.4-0.7% Mo, 0.02-0.5% Cu, 0.02-0.5% Ni and the balance Fe or further contains 0.005-0.08% Al. When the steel is preheated before welding, the preheating temp. can be considerably lowered. The steel has superior resistance to E.C (erosion corrosion) in wet steam.
