MANUFACTURE OF PET BOTTLE HAVING GAS BARRIER PROPERTY

PURPOSE:To provide with sufficient gas barrier property and improve the smoothness of the surface of the bottle by a method wherein a film, consisting of a gas barrier film, is attached to a preform made of PET resin, thereafter, they are subjected to biaxially oriented blow molding. CONSTITUTION:A tube, used for the preform 1 made of PET resin, is consisting of a single layer of gas barrier material film such as acrylonitrile or the like. Upon mounting the tube 2 on the preform 1, an adhesive agent may be used to improve the bondability thereof or the PET resin may be laminated to avoid the gas barrier material from being exposed directly to the outside. The PET preform, mounted with the tube 2, is heated to the optimum temperature for the orientation of PET and formed through biaxially oriented blow molding to manufacture the bottle. The gas barrier material is formed already so as to have the shape of film,therefore, it is not necessary to melt or disperse it and an obtained surface may be excellent in the smoothness thereof.
