PURPOSE:To decrease stress in quenching after carburization quenching without increasing dead weight of a part and to improve vehicle performance, by bringing a jig for almost equalizing heat capacity of a boss part to the total of heat capacities of spline and flange parts into contact with spline and flange parts, next, carrying out carburization quenching. CONSTITUTION:At carburization quenching a cup shaped part 1 having a thick boss part 2 in which the boss part 2 almost at center and the thinner spline part 3 than this at the outer circumference are connected with the flange part 4, the jig 10 is brought into contact with the parts 3 and 4 so that total heat quantity of these almost becomes that of the part 2. These are fed into carburization furnace under the state to carry out quenching after carburization. The jig 10 is in contact with each inner surface side of the parts 3 and 4, and it is desirable to compose it of a ceramic ring member 7 for supporting the part 1, a metal ring member 8 in contact with outer surface of the part 3 and a metal ring 9 in contact with outer surface of the part 4.
