The ureter stimulation electrode includes two conducting elements (2,3). The two lie in line, and have the same external diameter. They are tubular and are separated by an insulating ring (4). The passageway through the two elements is open at both the front of the first element (2), and to an extended rear tube section (5) which passes through an insulating handle (6). - Conducting wires are attached to the rear element (3), and to the extended tube section within the handle in order that a voltage may be applied to the two elements. A section of the tube (9) may also be insulating in order to isolate the section of tube projecting from the back of the handle from the front end element (2).
